Your Russian river cruise begins in Moscow, Russia’s capital, where you will learn about its history and culture on a sightseeing tour. Witness St Basil’s Cathedral which is a real lively hub of the city, Sparrow Hill, Lubyanka Square, and Red Square. Following lunch on board as you cruise the Moscow River, be amazed at the impressive artwork which is displayed in the Tretyakov Art Museum, over 150,000 pieces adorn the grand rooms. In the evening, you can take an optional trip to the celebrated Moscow Circus which has played a significant part in Russia’s cultural traditions.

Moscow City Tour

Uglich

Tour the Chambers of Prince Dimitry and the Church of Dimitry on the Blood which is dedicated to the unfortunate tale of Ivan the Terrible’s son. Yaroslavl

Goritsy

Arrive in St Petersburg

One of the most beautiful cities you will visit on a Russian river cruise, and arguably in the world, is St Petersburg. Once a former Russian capital, the city emanates romance and offers many intriguing sights to be discovered. Dating back to the 18th century, the city is home to elaborate palaces, museums, churches and plazas. On a sightseeing tour you will see Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square, St Isaac’s Cathedral and the mighty vessel Aurora which is now protected as a museum.
After a breathtaking tour of iconic sites, the remainder of the day can be spent at leisure with an optional evening of folkloric entertainment.

Explore St Petersburg

Final Day in St Petersburg

A Russian river cruise would not be complete without an excursion to the extravagant and legendary Imperial Estate which comprises the Peterhof Palace, voluptuous gardens and delicate fountains. Originally constructed by Peter the Great, the majestic estate is definitely an awe-inspiring experience. Either arrive at or depart the estate by hydrofoil. Perhaps spend the afternoon revisiting sites of interest or unwind on the ship.
